Day 6, April 1

Amsterdam

Easy to get organised today - our hotel has tickets for all day tram use and canal ride (latter at a discount!).  Light rain made photography difficult from the canal boat but a very interesting trip providing a great study of Amsterdam architecture.

Scenes around the canal boat terminal - we enjoy flowers everywhere.

Even on canals, traffic sometimes gets a bit congested.

Finally on board

Now, the interesting thing about canals is that they are very old and boats are now made much bigger to reduce the cost/benefit ratio for touring.  Are we really going to fit under this bridge?

Hmm, we actually did!

After the canal ride, we took a wander around the city then caught a tram to Nieuw Sloten (New Locks), apparently another public housing area!  Dinner in a restaurant in the VondelPark just "round the corner".

Now this is the smallest car we have ever seen!
