Day 5, March 31

London to Amsterdam

An 11:45 am flight meant that there was little to do in London, but check out and get to the airport.  The plane made a very rough ascent through the clouds that raised a shriek or two from some passengers, but the rest of the flight was OK.

After checking in to our hotel, we managed to squeeze ourselves into our tiny room that would have been small for a single bed.

This is taken from the door.  That panel at the left of the bed is the bathroom door.

The only place I could open my case was on the bed!

A slight compensation was the leafy backyard immediately outside the window and I had a bit of practice using my zoom lens to capture a very fat pigeon preening itself.

Quickly escaped into the open and went for a bit of a walk around the area to find a place to have dinner.  Turned out to be a bit posh - crystal glasses even!
