2017-03-28 Trip Day 2

Day 2, March 28

In Singapore

We decided to use the hop on, hop off tourist bus for today's entertainment. Started on Yellow Line as it passed our hotel.

Singapore Architecture

A park right in the city centre

Our first hop-off was Singapore Botanical Gardens where we had a snack for lunch and were joined by a couple of locals.

Next, a walk around the gardens to discover the unusual and amazing flowers of the region.
These are heliconia.

While they mostly hang down from a bush, some spring up from the ground.

Chopin playing his harpsichord, but I can't remember why this was significant to Singapore.
Mostly just related to the music shell in the background - see also

The orchid garden was a little too far for Gaye, only Donal and I went the extra distance while Lexi kept Gaye company.

A video panorama

All done at the gardens.  Waiting for the next bus.

More street art - a huge peacock...

...with a tail that glows with changing colours at night.

Transfer to Blue Line, pass Little India, transfer back to Yellow Line for long trip home.

 Raffles Hotel

Tea at the local food court.
